Question: How do I choose the best martial arts program for my child?

One question we receive often from parents and family members is "how do I find the best martial arts program for my child?" The answer isn't simple, but we wanted to share the following traits we pay special attention to for our own kids BJJ program in the hopes you will consider them when selecting a new martial arts academy for your child or teenager in Northwest Arkansas.

  • Safety. Of course, safety should be the first priority of any activity involving young people. Techniques should be taught in a way that minimizes any risk of injury. Instructors should be certified by an organization such as the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and be trained in basic and life-saving first aid.

  • Cleanliness and Hygiene. When visiting a new academy, be sure to

  • Age-Appropriate Curriculum. BJJ can be a difficult art to learn. A curriculum designed for younger minds and bodies is essential. Setting and achieving goals is an important aspect of any martial arts program. In our kids' BJJ program, instructors break down goals into manageable tasks, providing children with a sense of accomplishment as they progress.

  • Positive Environment. Creating a positive and supportive training environment is crucial to the success of our kids' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. This includes fostering a sense of camaraderie among the children and promoting positive interactions.

  • Parental Involvement. Diamond State Marital Arts encourages parental involvement, recognizing the role parents play in reinforcing the values and lessons learned in class. We want to get to know our parents, and we even invite them to train along with their child.

  • Fun. Children learn best when they're engaged and enjoying what they are doing. Our kids' BJJ program incorporates interactive drills, games, and activities to make learning enjoyable and most of all fun.
